LMS & Wikispace

Today's video was on TED, Sugata Mitra, spoke about his Hole in the Wal experiment in countries where access to computers is limited. The video really speaks to the need for technology in remote areas and how learning can take place in significant volumes without a teacher. It brought my attention back to focus on the importance of using group work with computers and I will definitely be trying to do this more frequently in the classroom, since the majority of our time on computers in the lab is one student per computer.

The wiki activity was great! I created a wiki for my class of level 4 students back in 2007 and
liked it then, but since I began teaching lower levels of English, I've sort of forgotten about it. It was nice to be re-introduced to it and refresh my memory about how to build them. I would like to work toward making my wiki, or creating a new one with content level-appropriate for my practical learners in level 2. Many of the students in my class this term have access to the internet at home andr are just begging for things to do online to improve their English and computer skills.
 Great day!
